Submission

Submission process

We understand that colleagues have concerns and are unsure as to whether they can make long term travel plans for 2022. In addition, participants of the online ECER in 2021 asked for future online participation options. In response to this, ECER 2022, Yerevan and ECER plus will offer online elements in addition to the in-person conference.

The event in Yerevan will follow our traditional schedule, starting with the Emerging Researchers’ Conference 22 - 23 August as an in-person event. The in-person sessions of ECER will run from 23 – 26 August. The in-person sessions of ECER will run from 23 – 26 August. ECER Plus (online) will take place 1 – 10 September, further details will be announced in due time. As we need to adapt to the changing plans the submissions system to ECER 2022 will open with a slight delay.

The submission and reviewing process will remain as in previous years. All submissions must be made via Conftool (www.conftool.com/ecer2022). After review results are announced in early April, all submitting authors of accepted papers will have two weeks’ to confirm if their contribution is meant to stay in the in-person programme or if it needs to be scheduled in the online days. As only submitters will be able to communicate this decision to us, we strongly recommend that submissions be made by a presenting author. Registration for in-person and online participation will open thereafter.

With this we hope to enable both: a lively and rich in-person conference while opening up for those who might find it challenging to travel to the event.

How to Submit to ECER 2022, Yerevan and ECER plus

Submission Time: 7 December 2021 - 31 January 2022

  • All proposals for ECER Yerevan (in-person),  ERC Yerevan (in-person) and ECER Plus (online) must be submitted using the 2022 online submission system. Accounts from previous years are usually no longer available, so please create a new user account. Afterwards you can access the submission form which will allow you to enter your proposal.
  • Please note: After review results are announced in early April, all submitters will have two weeks’ time to confirm if their submission is meant to stay in the in-person in Yerevan programme or if it needs to be scheduled during ECER plus (online). As only submitters will be able to communicate this decision to us, we strongly recommend that submissions be made by a presenting author
  • You will be technically unable to submit your proposal if information is missing. So please collect all necessary information before submitting your proposals. It is also important to stay within the limits of word-counts indicated in the examples as otherwise the submission system will not process your submission.
  • All submissions need to be directed towards an EERA network. Learn more about networks and their scope here.
  • If you want to present at the Emerging Researchers' Conference, please select the Emerging Researchers' Group as the network. The ERC accepts papers that discuss design and methodology, with some indication of what the data might indicate, or at least what will be the expected outcomes/ results. Please note that you cannot submit the same paper to ECER and ERC.
  • We recommend you first consult the information on the ECER Formats of Presentations and Presentation Formats @ ERC as well as the example submission forms at the same pages. Then please prepare your abstract according to the pre-conditions in a text programme such as Word and then copy and paste it into the Conftool submission form.
  • ECER conference language is English. All proposals need to be submitted and presented in English, and only proposals handed in in English will be considered.
  • Once provided with a username and password you can re-enter the website at any time prior to the submission deadline in order to change or update your data and proposal.
  • Please remember to keep your username and password safe - you will need them again to register for the conference.

Limitations Regarding Number of Submissions and Presentations per Person

Due to the high number of participants at ECER, we can only guarantee each person two presentations without a time clash. While the submission system will only allow you to submit two proposals, it is possible for you to be listed as presenting co-author on another person’s submission. As the limit of two guaranteed presentations applies to all submissions (including the participation in a symposium), please be aware that if you are listed as presenting author/presenting co-author for more than two presentations in total, we may have to withdraw you as presenter from one or more presentations.
