According to many countries work on the review of “education research” in their own countries and try to provide the strategies to improve the quality of education research since 1990s, the trend makes highlight to the education researchers and policy maker. Taiwanese government has launched policies and funded support to set the benchmark for Taiwan’s leading universities in international academic competition. The external environment of global competition by research policy influences the ecosystem of social science research production. To assure the quality of education policy, the peer-review from inside the education community is one way to supplement the government’s governance including establishing the research institutes, promotion, reward, and research value. Tracking the phenomena of academic research, this paper is aimed to provide an overview on the condition of academic education research in Taiwan, and is going to understand the issues facing education research through the trend of social science research by analyzing the research organization, policy, and the evaluation of research performance.
