Symposium, Continued from 16 SES 05 B
Contribution
The integration of ICT in the curriculum can be understood from multiple perspectives, usually from planning curriculum up to school organization and management. This paper aims to show the experience carried out since 2000 in the Spanish region of Extremadura, firstly with the implementation of the Extremeñan Technological Network (RTE), which implied the endowment of computers for schools within Compulsory Education, the creation of educative free software (Linex) for teaching-learning (Linex Colegios, AulaLinex, LinexEdu) and school management (Rayuela), teacher training and the generation of digital contents for teaching. Recently, this scenario has been completed with the inclusion of digital whiteboards on schools and the provision of laptop computers to students. We will reflect about the current situation and use of ICT on educational practices. Has been all ICT initiatives enough in order to reduce the digital divide and to extend the use of ICT all over the region within schools? Do really ICT support learning process of extremeñan students through the integration of ICT in curriculum? A revision of the current state of the art is done in the context of the literature and results obtained from experience.
