29 SES 05, Arts Education Research : Alternatives in Action
Research Workshop
Contribution
Arts educational actors have the power to open up transdisciplinar and transcultural learning possibilities in both formal ad informal educational settings when they use social engaged art strategies. In their actions they have the power to unlock the creative, innovative and critical potential of the learners . Extended education promoted in Internet netwoks and the raise of collective intelligence are developing creative and innovative educational perspectives to contemporary arts educators. However there is a lack of research about the impact of activist arts education often related to the lack of adequateness of research methods used to record, and analyse data and in the forms the conclusions are displayed. The presenters, as members of the group C3 will describe some examples of research about existing cases of activist arts education actions in the Inter-action arts educational community . Inter-actionmembers had been provoking and encouraging the construction of learning situations using community arts-based approaches in formal and informal educational settings.
