Open Science in Education
Open Science becomes more and more relevant as an umbrella term for several recent developments in educational research. While Open Science calls for the transparency of scholarship, its processes and outcomes, it offers the potential for educational research to strengthen its effects on education and the society at large by making its findings more visible and traceable. With this special call we invite participants to submit papers, symposia, research workshops, and round tables related to Open Science in Education to discuss a critical engagement.
Open Science has become an umbrella term for several recent developments ranging from open access publications to open research data, open metrics, and open educational resources. Open Science calls for the transparency of scholarship and its processes, for the accessibility of outcomes and resources. Open Science in Educational Research offers the potential to strengthen its effects on education and the society at large by making its findings more visible and traceable.
At ECER 2022 we want to bring together initiatives and research about Open Science in Education. Thereby, we want to highlight disucss the broad range of epistemological and methodolocial practices within Educational Research and its interdisciplinary connections (e.g. Social Sciences, Psychology, Computational Science) with a variety of research paradigms.
The framework and measures of the European education sector are country specific. The involvement of different and especially decentralised European perspectives serves to identify common grounds, to enhance the European perspective and to show the diversity regarding a European open research landscape. This special call encourages particularly the participation of researchers in decentralized European regions.
With this special call we invite participants to submit papers, symposia, research workshops, and round tables related to Open Science in Education. Thereby, we try to connect research, infrastructure, and practice and are looking forward for joint sessions with other networks. While the network is in discussion to change its name into Open Science in Education, we encourage everyone interested to participate at this call and to enagage in this network. Please indicate in your proposal that you are submitting to this network specific call.
