In ECER 2010 NW22: Research in Higher Education had
- 26 paper sessions (altogether 85 papers)
- 5 symposia (one of which a joint one together with NW 10: Teacher Education Research)

Presentations focussed on the following themes
- teaching, learning and assessment in higher education (33 papers)
- academic work and professional development (20 papers, 2 RTs & 3 symposia)
- inequality and diversity in higher education settings (13 papers)
- employability and transition to work of higher education graduates (10 papers & 2 symposia)
- management and governance in higher education (9 papers)
In general, the scientific level of sessions was good and typically there were 15-20 participants in each session which guaranteed good discussions as well.
