Annual Report 2008, Göteborg

Five paper sessions with altogether twelve presentations were organised. The papers were grouped around themes:

  • Theorizing children´s rights in education: philosophical perspectives and concepts; 
  • Theorizing children's rights in educuation: childhoods and contexts;
  • Researching children's rights: theoretical and methodologcal diversity in studies of children's voices and experiences.

 
A Joint Symposium with Network 23 (Policy studies and politics of education), was organised and covered two sessions. The theme for this symposium was "Priority education policies in Europe. Present landscape and challenges."

Between 9-22 persons attended the sessions.

A presentation of the network was made in the Pre-Conference of the Postgraduate network. 
A network meeting, attended by 9 persons, was held. During this meeting, we discussed possible initiatives for joint paper sessions and symposia for next year's conference, possibilities for producing a common publication on research on children's rights in education, and for inititating a web-site.

Each network holds a Network Meeting during ECER and invites interested researchers to join. We have collected the network meeting minutes.
