Jyväskylä and how to get there

Jyväskylä is an attractive town located in the heart of the beautiful Finnish lake district.  It is a great town for those on foot, since key services in the town centre are located within walking distance.

Jyväskylä can be reached easily by plane, train or bus. There are flights to Jyväskylä from Helsinki-Vantaa international airport roughly three times a day. If you are flying into Helsinki-Vantaa, one practical solution is to take a train or bus directly from the Helsinki airport to Jyväskylä as the airport in Jyväskylä is about 45 kilometers from the town centre. The train journey from Helsinki to Jyväskylä takes about 3.5 hours. In addition, the nearby city of Tampere has an international airport, some two hours away from Jyväskylä.
