Panel Discussion: Research ethics in exceptional times

The panelists in the Panel Discussion "Research ethics in exceptional times" will be the Keynote Speakers Kathy Sylva, Srikant Sarangi and Pamela Sammons. They will be joined by Niina Rutanen, PhD, professor in early childhood education at the University of Jyväskylä.

The Panel will be chaired by Kirsi Pyhältö.

Niina Rutanen, PhD, is a professor in early childhood education at the University of Jyväskylä. Her research interests are linked to spatial approaches in early childhood education and childhood studies. As a previous member of the Ethics Committee of Youth and Childhood Studies in Finland she has also published on research ethics and video research methods with young children. She is the chair of the Finnish Society for Childhood studies and editor of JECER – Journal of Early Childhood Education Research.  

Kirsi Pyhältö, PhD. is professor of higher education, at the Center of University Teaching and Learning (HYPE), University of Helsinki. She is also professor of educational sciences, at the University of Oulu, and extraordinary professor, University of Stellenbosch, South-Africa. In the area of higher education her interest focuses on researcher education and early career researchers. She has over 200 research publications.
