www.studybuddy.de is an e-learning platform that is centered on the one hand on building up a study community, taking modern Internet developments like user-generated content into account, and on the other hand on enabling teachers to use the „New Media“ and especially the Internet for their classes and/or homework.
By utilizing online games in the learning process StudyBuddy.de uses the direct and intense competition between the learners as well as the possibility of collaboration to achieve an adaptation of the learning processes of the learners. In this process the teacher can entertain different relationships to his students. He has the opportunity to be part of the class and act in a moderating position among the learners or choose to keep track of the pupils' individual results. StudyBuddy.de can be used as a supporting system for homework or be part of an Internet-based virtual classroom. In this classroom StudyBuddy.de can serve as a testing tool or be a platform for learning groups.
The platform was developed by Kristian Klett, Lisa Schulz and Daniel Weingarten with Hermann Rüppell acting as a scientific advisor.
