Contribution
The action research project aimed at revealing the level of interpersonal relations of the schools' students’ and teachers’ participation of education subjects in school life. The study includes three stages. At the first stage, based on the methodological positions of psychological and pedagogical research, foreign partners developed interview questions aimed at revealing the level of interpersonal interaction and the degree of teacher and student participation in school life. Analysis of the interview data informed the development of a questionnaire to test the findings from the interviews. The second stage of the project focused on presenting the findings to the School Senior Management Team (SMT). The findings informed the SMT’s strategy for increasing the level of life motives, self-development, and active involvement of teachers and students in school life. The basis for the start of the third stage of the research is to understand the impact of the SMT’s change strategy. We will reflect on the findings and consider the possibilities of the state reforms, and achievements of international partners’ and parents’ requests. Modern Kazakhstan practice of the secondary school reforms includes the concept of the teachers’ development as researchers (K. Shamshidinova, 2010). Our study will help to implement this concept.
