Annual Report 2018, Bolzano

ECER 2018 in Bolzano has been a much valued conference. Paper sessions as well as symposia were well-organized and well-attended. Next to the paper sessions, especially symposia were very much welcomed. These symposia have proven to be an effective way of creating high quality sessions and assisting in community building  One of the highlights was a double symposium on "European Curriculum Policy: The Case of Curriculum Making in Diverse Contexts" with presentations on the case of Wales, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Ireland and the Netherlands. Moreover, attractive symposia were organized on "Comparative educational knowledge and knowledge production", "Researching for Responsible and Innovative Practices in Education" and "Literary Education and Reading Publics". The network also joint in the symposia celebrating 50 years of Journal of Curriculum Studies, entitled: "Five Decades of International Interaction in Curriculum Studies".   We celebrated Jan van den Akker's honorary network membership. This award shows the networks' appreciation for his continuing work in addressing important international curriculum issues and the provision of (conceptual) assistance to (young) curriculum researchers.

Each network holds a Network Meeting during ECER and invites interested researchers to join. We have collected the network meeting minutes.
