Network Meeting 2015, Budapest

The NW1 meeting was attended by 34 people from all over Europe, as well as S Africa, Australia and New Zealand. We explained the reviewing process: this year we had 131 applications. 27 people took part in reviewing process because all proposals are reviewed by two people. The link convenors moderate by doing a third review particularly where there are disagreements.
Ene-Silvia Sarv organized the programme/sessions schedule, Sara Bubb created the titles for sessions and selected people to chair sessions. Hannu participated in the ECER link convenors meeting in Berlin in April 2015 and Sara and Hannu attended the ECER meetings in Budapest.

We set up some thematic groups, for people to discuss in during the meeting and to continue contact:
•    Teachers as researcher
•    Impact evaluation
•    Induction of new teachers
•    Leadership development
•    Mentor training
•    Mentoring
•    Models of CPD
•    Policy
•    School development
•    Train the trainers
•    Migration and PD issues -
•    Knowledge mobilisation

Hannu set up a Padlet page to share people's ideas - <link http: fi.padlet.com osaavaverme ecer _blank external link in new>fi.padlet.com/osaavaverme/ecer.

The NW1 council consists of Convenors and Co-convenors:
Sara Bubb (UCL Institute of Education, London, England); Hannu Heikkinen (University of Jyväskylä, Finland); Ken Jones (University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Wales); Heinz Holtappels (Technische Universität Dortmund, Germany); Stefan Zehetmeier (University of Klagenfurt, Austria).

It was decided to honour three past convenors: Vivienne Collinson, Ene Silvia Sarv and Maureen Killeavy. We gave them thanks, a round of applause and agreed to recommend them to ECER for honorary membership. We will commemorate their great contribution to NW1 by having a session about new teacher induction named after Maureen Killeavy; a session about teachers’ professional development named after Vivienne Collinson and  a session about Science or Maths teachers’ professional development named after Ene Silvia Sarv. In the conveners' meeting, we also decided to submit a proposal for Honorary Network Membership for Vivienne Collinson, Ene-Silvia Sarv and Maureen Killeavy. This proposal will be submitted to the EERA council by the link convenors of the network.

NW 01 runs a mailing list and invites researchers to join. To join the mailing list, send a blank message to nw01-subscribe(at)lists.eera-ecer.de
