Contribution

The paper considers the relations between Czech small schools and their local communities. It identifies the individual local actors (parents, local authority, associations, etc.) involved in the lives of the schools, the basis of the mutual relationships and their contents and the frequency and the subjective evaluation of the relations by their participants. Particular attention is then given to the factors which influence these relations. The text is based on the analysis of data collected through a questionnaire survey undertaken in a number of small schools in the Czech Republic.
