13 SES 12, Educational Research in Transition, Teaching and Resistance
Long Paper Session
Contribution
Koopman (2009) positions the concept of transition as an example of `third-wave pragmatist' thinking. In this paper I argue that _transitionalism_ is a philosophically useful way to think about educational research, and argue that educational research should be considered a form of educational judgement having ameliorative purposes. I conclude by considering how ameliorative purposes relate to the evaluative criterion of impact, a core evaluative criterion of Horizon 2020.
