The study which was inspired by Basil Bernstein was designed as a longitudinal study. The study followed approximately up to 250 teachers’ career paths over a period of eight years. The teachers graduated in 1998. Four questionnaire surveys have been conducted among up to 250 teachers (1998, 1999, 2000 and 2005), and a case study involving observational studies and interviews with four teachers has been used to study teachers professional learning and career paths from their graduation in 1998 until 2005. The presentation will focus the results from the questionnaires;and among others things present the results concerning their professional development and professional identity, their teachings strategies within eight years of work.
