In the XXI century Catalunya and all Spain have become one of the migratory destinies of the Romanian population. Romanians add to the diverse communities from Africa, Asia, America and Europe already settled in Catalunya.After the first impacts of the multicultural reality it is observed how every culture arrive under specific conditions and particulars needs. The current investigation analyzes the specificities of the Romanian community settled in Catalunya.A socio-familiar diagnose of the Romanian community and the influence of this conditions in the adaptation to elementary compulsory schooling in order to improve the teaching strategies.The compulsory school has become representative spaces of the present Catalonian society. Schools turn to be an adequate public space to work the precise synergy needed for to the intercultural communication demanded by actual society.Accumulated experience from national and international immigrations, as well as other countries experience has shown how educative inclusion and school exit of the sons and daughters of the immigrates is a basic condition for an inclusive and equitable society. A balanced relationship of these generations between their origin community and the receiving community will enable a sustainable society.The investigation presupposes that:
- Compulsory school is a multicultural space that promotes equity and social justice, a basic referent of education and intercultural coexistence.
- School curriculums organizes the transmission of cognitive concepts socially selected, but also, basic social competences for life in community.
- The need of the schools of adapting the curricular projects to the new citizenship. “A diagnose of multicultural models that are found more often in educative institutions (…) compels to seek new strategies of intercultural education that replies to teaching needs” (Bartolome: 2002).
The investigation analyzes receiving society as well as immigrated citizens for to:
-Cover characteristics and specific needs of Romanian citizens as well as strategies and resources of the Catalonian school.
-Consider levels of normalization and coexistence between both communities, with special attention to the Romanian-gypsy minority, as particular identity.
-Propose several inclusion strategies between Romanian community and local communities.
The required synergy begins with a fair and balanced dialog between the local citizenship and the immigrated one. Reason why, in the compulsory elementary school, to facilitate the empathy and coexistence, specificities and particular needs of each culture are to be shared by both. In this way the compulsory education will be able to pay attention and solutions to the complex and changing modern society and to the several profiles of families, cultural communities and their educative needs.
