Symposium
Contribution
The aim of this paper is to present a case study that displays the processes of creating and evaluating a specific blended learning study method which includes the use of digital animation (DA) as well as human factors (peers and teachers) to promote SRL in forth-grade students learning English as a second language. The digital animation is used to present a character that models learning strategies. In addition, a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) which gives students the opportunity to plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning is also contemplated in the study method. The creation and evaluation processes of measuring instruments such as a questionnaire, an observation grid and an interview grid are also presented. These instruments are used to assess different occurrences in this type of learning environment, as well as SRL competencies in learners as they use this particular study method.
