Contribution
In the modern information society the learning process of a pre-school child is influenced by the family culture, nation culture (language, lifestyle, traditions, symbols, etc.), global culture (general values, value crisis, different languages and contradictory cultural traditions, etc.), also by education institution culture. Information culture (television, computer games, advertising), material-entertainment culture (e.g. huge shopping centers’ services to a child and family), changed culture of adults and children have an increasingly growing effect on a child’s learning. This is why the modern child’s learning is very much different from that of the previous century child’s. VPU Childhood study department has carried out a research, which seeks to find out what a child knows, understands, is able, where and how he/she found it out, learnt, what influence a different sociocultural environment has on a child’s world cognition, what the role of education institutions is.
