Contribution

This opening paper outlines the concept of Sport Education and gives a brief historical account of research on this particular pedagogical model. It then proceeeds to examine how teachers learn Sport Education through a historical perspective. It outlines the limitations of the traditional "workshop" technique, and provides limitations of pre-service teacher learning opportunities. Using examples from Australia, the United States, Russia, Scotland, and Korea, this presentation provides a segue into the three examples of successful teacher learning that follow.
