Contribution

There is a plethora of education and sport pedagogy research describing effective principles of design and delivery of professional development. Profession development should be designed according to known effective practices (Armour & Yelling, 2004; Ward & Doutis, 1999), yet the form of professional development may vary. The most time consuming and involved type of the effective professional development practices includes a continuous on-site presence of the person delivering professional development (Sinelnikov, 2009). However recent developments in on-line and distance learning opportunities have contributed to the early attempts of delivering at least a portion of professional development through web-based platform. One example of this approach was the examination of how a teacher in Taiwan implemented Sport Education following a long-distance, web-based professional development program.
