23 SES 14 B, Responding To Crisis In Education
Symposium, Part 2
Contribution
The new organization of capitalism through global networks produces moral entrepreneurs which are mediators between several worlds (business, university, media) and are proposing new visions. The New Right has built the idea of crisis against the “1968 thinking” in developing ideas within new Think Tanks to counteract progressivism. The left became aware of its minority position and used grass-root movements and new means of information (blogs, face-book, twitter) to denounce the exploitation and the alienation of this new global capitalist order. However, academics and educational sciences have been undermined by rhetorics and attacks against their legacy and legitimacy. In this context, how to think the academic condition between doxa and expertise, and the project and criticism developed during the 1960s-70s? How can we explain the fabrication of the crisis in educational sciences in taking into account the restructuring of academia and the emergence of moral entrepreneurship?
