Contribution
This qualitative study is about the attitudes, perceptions and activities of future kindergarten teachers concerning media education in kindergarten. Six media education trainers of future kindergarten teachers have been interviewed (9/2011-6/2012) about the apprenticeship concerning media education and their perception of the future kindergarten teachers’ attitudes towards it. Additionally, eight groups of future kindergarten teachers were in the interviewed sample. One half of the sample is still in (school) training, while the other half also has practical experience in the kindergartens. The guideline-based interviews are analyzed by Documentary Method. Among the future kindergarten teachers is a wide range of different attitudes. There are some who refuse the use of media in kindergarten at all. Contrasting, others do recognize the chances of media education and usage, e.g. for learning. It can be discussed if there is a typology of attitudes, perceptions and activities of the future kindergarten teachers.
