We ran a NW3 Summer School in August 2024 in the University of Cyprus. Summer school: NW3 Summer School 2024 - Boundaries, borders and frontiers in curriculum research: theoretical and methodological challenges. The notion of ‘frontiers’ refers especially to how younger generations of researchers, in dialogue with existing ones, can discuss how through their research they can contribute to challenging and extending the frontiers of curriculum research. Feedback on the summer school was very positive. Thanks to co-convenor Dr Stavroula Philippou for all her work in organising the event. The University of Cyprus was a wonderful host for the event and connections were made that will remain for many years to come.
The highlights from the conference were many including an engaging workshop, panel session and great variety of papers and posters showcasing the important research happening in curriculum. The Panel Discussion on ‘30 Years of Curriculum Making’ was a resounding success with very good engagement with the topic. Thanks to all the panel participants – Prof., Daniel Alvunger, Prof., Anne Looney, Prof., Nienke Nieveen, Dr Stavroula Philippou and Prof., Mark Priestley. It is a testament to the research being carried out in the curriculum space to have such a prestigious panel of scholars to present within NW3.
Another highlight was the network social event, which provided space for further discussion and networking. A small presentation was made to Professor Nienke Nieveen to say thanks for her leadership of the Network. We reflected on the wonderful leadership and vision provided by Nienke and how she has grown the network to include new people bringing exciting research perspectives to our discussions.
