Annual Report 2025, Belgrade

In the last year, we set up a network development board. Together with coconvenors we decided to invite collegues who might be interested in joining, co-creating and co-developing our network development board (NDB) for our network organizational education. This board consists of eight interested members and friends of the network, who wish to move forward and advance the work of the network. We intend to list the members of this NDB at the ECER website and to be affiliated members, who might become co-convenors of the network in the future. They can be rotating in - once we establish a rotating structure for the co-convenorship. NDB members

  • will support programme development for 2-3 years
  • contribute to other activities like reading groups or publication initiatives as well as research groups

They contribute to further vitalizing the network and serve as reviewers.

We had several online meetings in advance to set up this cooperation structure.

We formed 4 tandems, which will advance the work of the network 32. We created a

  • Mailing list Tandem (Sarah Wieners, Jörg Schwarz)
  • Welcome- & Mentoring Team (Britta Möller & Marcina Singh)
  • Activities throughout the year Tandem (Ruth Wouters & Marie Lotz)
  • Social Media Team (Sarah Wieners & Karina Kiaer)

During the ECER conference, we had more than 60 presentations in a two stream program. We had a lot of research workshops and symposia collaborating with the citizenship education network. Integrating the contributions of three Horizon Europe funded programs on ‘democracy as becoming’, the program was rich, diverse and participatory.

As well threefold series of methodological symposia contributed to the rich program.

Each network holds a Network Meeting during ECER and invites interested researchers to join. We have collected the network meeting minutes.
