In 2023, NW 07 broke a record in terms of the number of proposals received, with a total of 142 submissions. This allowed for a wide variety of topics, research approaches and perspectives to be discussed. By attracting researchers from a wide range of national and disciplinary backgrounds, we were able to broaden the discussion across Europe and beyond.
Highlights of this year's conference were that Network 07 extended its collaboration with other EERA networks by issuing a joint special call, this year with networks 20 'Research in Innovative Intercultural Learning Environments' and 31 'LEd - Network on Language and Education' on 'Multiliteracies in Intercultural & Multilingual Education: Bridging Identities, Practices & Learning Environments'. This resulted in joint sessions throughout the programme from Tuesday to Friday, as well as lively discussions and exchanges. And secondly, in its tradition of contextual research, NW 07 organised and hosted an opening session with researchers from the host country on 'Scottish Discourses on Migration and Social Justice in Education' - one of the sessions that was very well attended.
