Annual Report 2024, Nicosia

ECER 2024 was held in Nicosia on August 26-30. Network 9 organized 13 paper sessions, five symposium sessions, a joint symposium session with NW34, and one research workshop. The attendance of the sessions was good in general and the discussions were rich and interesting. Authors of the Network 9 submissions accepted for ECER 2024 were from 20 countries, reflecting the international composition of conference presentations. The organisation of ECER 2024 was great; there were no serious technical issues.

Monica Rosén, the Link Convenor of Network 9, sadly passed away on August 29, while attending ECER 2024. The Network meeting and keynote address were postponed and held online on October 22, 2024. At the network meeting, network members supported the proposal by network convenors to name the network keynote “Monica Rosén Memorial Lecture”. The inaugural Monica Rosén Memorial Lecture was given by Professor Elena C. Papanastasiou from the University of Nicosia (Cyprus) on the theme of “Bridging Gaps and Improving the Future: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities through Large-Scale Assessments”.
