Thursday, 15/Sep/2011 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Hörsaal 2
The European Commission published in July 2011 the Work Programme and calls for proposals for the year 2012 related to the theme "Socio-economic Science and the Humanities". One of the challenges covered by the call for proposals N. 1 refers to: "Educational systems in the 21st century". It will result in a collaborative research project (EC contribution not less than 5.5 M€) aiming at: - understanding the dynamics and processes of changes that education systems have undergone during the construction of the EU, as well as identifying the main actors and decision-making processes behind choices affecting reforms, - providing new insight on current and future challenges linked to the implementation of important European initiatives (e.g. ‘Youth on the Move’) for the modernisation of the education systems and their adaptation to emerging socio-economic needs, - understanding and assessing the main elements required to ensure that education systems in Europe acquire the capacities necessary for change, to face upcoming challenges at societal, economic and political level, - developing complementary and innovative indicators, helping decision-makers to design efficient education policies.
The session will provide information on:
- the Work Programme and calls for proposals 2012 for the Theme Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities in general
- the challenge "educational systems for the 21st century" in particular
- how to submit a proposal, the evaluation rules, how to find the information etc
