Hamburg with Kids

Hamburg has a lot to offer - not only for adults but also for children. Listed below you will find some recommendations and our top fun activities for kids!

Family-friendly Accomodations

Playgrounds

The red dots show playgrounds close to Campus

There are some pretty amazing playgrounds in Hamburg. One of the biggest, Wasserspiele, lies in the Planten un Blomen park in the heart of the city and not far from campus. Its playground is especially beloved for its water attractions!

If you wish to find a playground close to campus, the Schanzenpark is only a 15-minute walk away. The playground and the SternChance Café next to it make it a nice place for the whole family.

Another fun playground is the Grasbrookpark located in the HafenCity, a newly built district right at the foot of the Elbe. What makes Grasbrookpark so special is its development: it was designed by children!

Also the Lohsepark in the HafenCity boasts lush flowery carpets, a café and numerous recreational opportunities. For children, a large playground with a climbing frame, trampoline and basketball hoop is available, ideal for playing and romping! Thanks to the skate area and the climbing route, even the big ones will not be bored. 60 fruit trees bear delicious fruits - picking is not only allowed, but even desired. Lohsepark is a place of remembrance, too. The "denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof" is a dignified reminder of the deportation transports of Jews, Sinti and Roma that started from Hanover Railroad Station between 1940 and 1945.
