Contribution
In Italy, the promotion and support of educational initiatives is often the responsibility of local institutions or associations aiming to innovate school pedagogy and professional identity and to address the contemporary changes in school population.
My presentation will deal with one such institution – the Province of Turin Centre for Didactic Services (Ce.se.di); Ce.se.di has promoted cooperative learning in primary and secondary schools through a group of expert teachers available to teach others that pedagogical approach.
I am interested in understanding the professional, pedagogical and organizational strategies enacted by Ce.se.di and the expert teachers in relation to the structural and curricular modifications that have taken place in Italian education system in the last 20 years.
Findings will be gathered through professional and personal life stories’ collection and historical research on Italian education legislation and local educational institutions’ establishment and work.
