Contribution

It is a big role of the universitis of science and engineering to bring up students who can correctly understand the science and engineering, and duly judge the science and technology when they are applied to the society, while young person’s losing interests in science are becoming aggravated. In addition, the problem of NEET(Not in Employment, Education or Training) is a socially serious problem. There are a lot of universities that begin to introduce the career education as centering the universities having liberal arts students. However, the university of science and engineering also starts to introduce the career education. In this paper, the questionnaires of three stages (the initial questionnaire, the middle repeated questionnaires and every week repeated questionnaires) are designed for the career education, and their measurements have been carried out. This paper analyzes and examines the educational effectiveness of the career education using structural equation modeling. The questionnaire surveys (the middle repeated questionnaires) that ask 16 items about student's states in detail are carried out five times a year. When students attend the career design A, how much influence of deepening of "Self-understanding" like my ability and strong point, etc. and "Communications skills” on "View in the future" does the education have, and how do "View in the future" and "Consideration to work" have influence on "University life"? "View in the future" is measured by 3 questions “the clearness of the life design”, ”the expansion of the occupational category” and “ the understanding of necessary abilities in the future”. We design the questionnaires to examine also whether the motivation to the study of the university have gone up, how much study students acquire, how many hours they study per week, with the items that relate with the career. In this paper, we analyze the relation among "Consideration to work", "University life", "View in the future", " Communications skills " and "Self-understanding" of the students who attend the career design A. Furthermore, we analyze how the relation changes in process of time by the structural equation modeling, and the results are shown. First of all, the analytical result of the 1st middle questionnaire (245 people) is examined. The influence of "Self-understanding" on "View in the future" is very large. Then, it is understood that "View in the future" influences "University life" very much. In addition, by analyzing repeated measurements it is understood that "View in the future" has changed because "Self-understanding" are gained by attending the class in process of time.

Expected Outcomes

In this paper, we analyze the relation among "Consideration to work", "University life", "View in the future", " Communications skills " and "Self-understanding" of the students who attend the career design A. Furthermore, we analyze how the relation changes in process of time by the structural equation modeling, and the results are shown.
