E-portfolio is mostly used as a personal reflection and presentation tool, but its impact can be increased by providing additional support for community-building. A new open-source e-portfolio tool called DiPo was developed and piloted in Tallinn University during 2006-2007 within an ESF-funded project OPAH. We decided to create a new ePortfolio software application because none of the existing software solutions satisfied the needs of teacher education. The core module of DiPo is a blog tool that is used for reflections. All the blog posts can be linked to certain headings in the professional qualification standard. DiPo is not just a personal tool, it provides collaboration areas and information sharing tools for groups. DiPo was implemented in 2007 throughout the three stages of teacher education in Estonia: initial teacher education (mainly in the context of school practice), induction year and in-service teacher education. Within one year, DiPo attracted 1000 registered users which comprise about 7% of all primary and secondary school teachers in Estonia. In our presentation we will present an analysis of the results of group interviews with DiPo users and their blog posts.
