Contribution

Seminar.net has reached readers in 147 countries, from all continents, and with a majority of readers from India. The second largest country in terms of readers is the US. The website has attracted almost 30 000 visitors in 2007. The users apparently use the site primarily during the academic terms, with a loss of interest during June-August and December. At most 1400 visitors visit the site each month, and in 2007 11058 unique visitors looked up the site. Seminar.net does not demand any signing up or membership to attract readers, and is listed as a 100% Open Access Journal. Google is the main mediator of visitors, while Yahoo and MSN are clearly less used. To which extent do these non-exclusive readers find material relevant to their specific cultural and political context? How do they use the site and what do they read? How can the journal be improved?
