In this paper we describe an ongoing study of 100 teachers ten years after they left their teacher training programs. The study aim at an illumination of how they ten years later evaluate the knowledge and skills they developed during their years as teacher students. It also focuses on how they view the changes during this ten years and their profession today. At first a questionnaire was distributed to 100 teachers ten years after graduation. In the second part a sample from the survey study will be interviewed. Some preliminary analysis of the questionnaire shows that a large majority still works as teachers. It is more common that men leave the profession. It is also the men who continue their professional development. The teachers are on among other things dissatisfied with their salary and the lacking support from the local school-administration.
