The symposium introduces a special issue published by two referred reviews in English and in French, Pedagogy, Culture & Society and Carrefours de l'education. The issue describes the results of a research led by the TNTEE (Thematic Network on Teacher Education in Europe) - Subnetwork F "Developing a "Reflective Practice" for the Teaching Profession and Teacher Education through Partnerships between Researchers and Practitioners". The symposium mainly focuses on three points : - analyzing how reflective practice is conceptualised, disseminated and used through different ways of thinking and practicing in various European countries relatively to North America, - difficulties for translating the same ideas by two languages referring to different cultural legacies, - advantages of publishing a same special issue in English and French reviews. Authors and editors will debate about these problems and with the attendants.
