Distance education is an excellent tool for creating 21st century leaders. However, it is the responsibility of educators to model the use of distance education technology in areas that influence these potential leaders. Three areas of infusion that are particularly crucial are public communication, education, and industry and community. This paper will cite three case studies indigenous to Mississippi that will demonstrate each area and encourage readers to apply these technologies to their specific geographic locations where applicable.
