This paper is about the implementation of sexuality issues within the curriculum of the undergraduate course of Psychology at the Sao Paulo State University - Assis, Brazil. We have taken the position that sexuality issues must be thought of as issues of public policies, of citizenship and of human rights. We have included this theme into the development of the psychologist by means of workshop sessions aimed at training Grade 1 to Grade 8 teachers to deal with sexual education within their work environment. The project was associated to the Sao Paulo State Secretary of Education and the Assis City Board of Education and aimed at: (a) supplying the Psychology trainees a context within which they could face this new need for knowledge and work with the population; and (b) to inform Grade 1 to Grade 8 teachers on issues of sexuality in order to work congruently with the new National Education Guidelines (PCNs). The paper reports on pre-test and post-test results with the teachers, as well as a few marking events along the development of the project that ended in November, 2001. (182 words)
