Contribution
The purpose of this paper is to deep in our knowledge about conceptions and characteristics of the teachers inside the field of vocational education, focusing in the continuous training to which teachers want to reach. The exposed results are drawn from the analysis of a questionnaire taking part of a wider research ('Vocational Identity, Flexibility and Mobility in the European Labour Market', funded by the 5th Programme Marco from the European Union -contract number HPSE-CT-1999-00042-, acronym FAME). This survey will reveal the possibilities and interest that vocational education teachers have in their continuous updating and qualification, because one of our objectives is to answer the need of the labour market. Do teachers have the opportunities to give response to this professionalism? Firstly, we'll take notice of the characteristics of the group to investigate, and subsequently, we'll point out the main features of the theories and models of the teachers training. Finally, the model at which the professional teachers respond will be analysed.
