This paper puts forward the focus on the results of the analysis and reflection about educational Portuguese policies as far as teacher education is concerned. Our goal is to identify and to problematize the epistemological referents, implicit and explicit, in the recent teacher education policy measures. This research project is fundamentally focused on the conceptual and empirical analyses based on written teacher education policies, rather than on their implementation and results achieved.
