Contribution
Trivial to say, that the social profiles and cognitive textures of 'sciences of education' in Europe vary according to different national contexts and research cultures they emerged from. At present, however, we find a dominant tendency across the educational sciences' cultures which introduce new factors: these include blurring the boundaries between research and technique, steering by results, radical shifts in communicative spaces, introducing new output indicators, and new criteria for evaluation, standardisation and promotion. These new factors affect the traditional research cultures and create new similarities and differences, new coalitions and resistances. The contribution discusses, how these new factors change traditional and establish new educational research profiles.
