Contribution
According to the European project entitled Equity of the European Education Systems. A Set of Indicators, the international team has organised a pilot study (called "quick survey") about students and teachers' feelings and criteria of justice at school. In French Community of Belgium, the sampling coverage (schools and classes randomly selected and covering all the educational system) allows deeper analyses. Those analyses suggest that the profiles of answers are more affected by the school characteristics of the 8th-grade students (their results) than other individual characteristics (gender, socio-economic or migrant status). The "quick survey" was replicated in 2004 among Belgian teachers and students at the end of the compulsory school (12th grade) to compare the profiles of answers of oldest students who have been distributed in the different tracks of the French Community educational system. The purpose of the paper is to introduce the conceptual framework of the "quick survey" and the methodological approach. The paper will also compare and contrast the answers of both samples of students, and introduce their teachers' feelings and criteria of justice.
