Description: To measure primary and secondary school teachers' confidence in educational reform, their opinion as to whether the reform was on track, and their perception of the difficulties facing the reform efforts.
Methodology: National representative sample of 1,061 primary and secondary teachers from 38 public and 15 private schools from four regions of Thailand. Data collection through questionnaire and interviews during 5-12 January 2006. Margin of error +4%. Confidence level 95%.
Conclusions: Educational reform experience in Thailand would serve as a case study for any country embarking upon reform agenda. A firm policy and continuity in political contribute to the reform's success. Also, understanding at grass root level and continued support in terms of budget and resources are also critical.
