Description: The use of instructional technology (UIT) as a classroom tool for improving upon course curriculum and instruction is an unproven tool. Technology applications facilitate and integrate a variety of media, such as text, graphics, sound, video, and animation. Therefore, they are effective tools for delivering instruction helping students to better understand the concepts by allowing educators to illustrate the concepts in different ways. Instructional Technology is the use of what works best, from all the tools available, to make meaningful learning happen in the classroom, with an emphasis on harnessing the instructional power of new instructional media and resources such as computers, the Internet, and other electronic devices, along with the use of effective instructional design principles and the purpose of instructional technology at our school is to provide students with the resources they need to gather and analyze information, synthesize their data into useable forms, create their own knowledge and share their products in a digital media. Teachers are provided the resources to support student learning, manage their classrooms and expand their own knowledge base. This paper tries to explore the following subjects: Definition of instruction; technology and instructional technology; a brief history of media development in IT; The purpose and importance of IT; The Effectiveness of Instructional Technology in Education; Domains of Instructional Technology; and Instructional technology's effect on Models of instruction.
