Description: This paper proposes that older workers will not be able to rely on the support of employers in the latter years of their working lives, because of a preference for youth, so will need to develop personnel epistemologies to individually and collectively maintain the capacity to be effective in work and through work transitions. Further, as maturation processes, in part, work against older workers they will need to rely on their experiences and accumulated practice in strategic ways and guided by critically reflective capacities.
