Contribution
A critical learning theory, like the subject-scientific theory (Holzkamp), focuses on the learners, especially their fundamental reasons and their resistance to learn in close connection to their capacity to act. The core concepts are expansive learning and defensive learning. Educational researchers – as the author of this proposal – are using the concepts in empirical studies to investigate Learning and E-Learning. Following the theoretical approach, there are methodological basics, but there are differences between the research projects as well. The benefits and the limitations of this approach, to gain insight into the E-Learning process and outcome, will be compiled and discussed.
