Contribution
The article focuses on two important problem areas in modern education. First of all, it is relations and collaboration between families and schools. Secondly, it is the integration of ethnic minorities. This research is aimed at the relations and communication between Czech schools and Russian families, who moved to the Czech Republic. Children of ethnic minorities need family and school support. Parental involvement in children’s lives, parental attitude toward their education and collaboration with school, play a very important role in children’s integration. Ethnical differences can also be observed in the relations between families and school due to different approaches to bringing up children and different standpoints taken by parents and school when it comes to children’s education, their academic success and playing a direct part in their lives. The purpose of this article is to identify present relations between Czech schools and Russian families.
