Summary: “U-S” partnership in china began from the 1980s, to the 1990s, partnership presented a rapid growth. In recent years, cooperation of universities and schools has become a important way to improve the quality of teaching and school teachers, related research has made great strides. Scope of the study on “U-S” partnership, from the connotation to the value of the significance of cooperation, and then to partnership type, orientation and phase of cooperation as well as the impact of factors such as cooperation, related to the various aspects of partnership, and scholars conducted in-depth discussion and exploration in these areas.
This study starts from the angle of university scholars ,who is a participant of partnership, and mainly takes a primary Chinese classroom reform project that in “U-S” partnership that the local educational administrative department promoting as an example. Trough participant observation, field data collection and interviews and other qualitative research methods, the researcher try to explore university academics as teacher educators, their role change in the partnership process and the factors that influence its changes. This study found that, first of all , in the implementation process of Chinese classroom reform project in primary school, university scholars role has gone through three stages of change, from a authoritative guide that considered to a equality inspirer, and then a accredited alongside fighter; Secondly, micro-political environment that formed between the different actors of education administrative departments, schools and universities in the “U-S” partnership influenced the changes of university academics during the process of the primary Chinese classroom reform project; Thirdly, relations between university academics and classroom teachers is a direct factor in the role of university academics change impacts; Fourthly, school personnel involved in resource platform provided by the university academics participate as a university scholar and teacher exchange intermediary frontline force for change in the role of university scholars played an important role in promoting.
