Contribution
This paper will present some outcomes of research by participants on an internship programme. The research will engage post-graduate colleagues. The authors will reflect on the implications of their ‘learning’ and ‘changing’ over the course of the academic year. The central question is ‘What are the implications of our learning on this post-graduate programme for our future teaching and learning practices in our secondary school contexts in Kazakhstan?’ The research uses a qualitative methodological approach using an iterative process of group dialogue, analysis and further dialogue. The aim is to socially construct meaning through generating a dialogic culture (Alexander, 2000). The paper will explore the ethical challenges, the power dynamics and examine what sort of new knowledge can be generated collectively by researching with colleagues in this way. Such engagement with reflective and reflexive study can help us to plan our own professional practice drawing on this post-graduate programme. This study will represent outcomes of the programme from participants’ perspectives and help to analyse the correspondence with its initial aims.
