Symposium
Contribution
The bankruptcy of big narratives and the demand for immediate and unlimited satisfaction in our post-modernity has produced significant changes in the social bond that also challenge the coaches of teachers in training. Beyond the didactic and strategic questions to be worked on with the trainee, the educational advisor must develop an ethical posture that goes beyond the obligations and standards defined by a training system. It is characterized by the ability to articulate norms with the impossible, the demands of desire, so that the novice can develop his own style of teaching beyond any normalization and become a subject for the benefit of his students. It is this point that we set up as part of the training, a system of analysis of practices oriented by psychoanalysis. Developing an ethical posture requires putting people to work in a subjective position of support. The teacher trainer himself must be trained to listen and challenge the novice’s freedom, to support him/her to say to him/herself, to listen to his/her students, to exchange and to build his/her teaching style in a just institution (Ricoeur). We try to support a process of elaboration around situations of accompaniment so that the advisor can work on his own super egoistic injunctions and their joyful temptations, his attempts at “formatting”. Reflecting in a discussion group on one’s own praxis is already an ethical act. The teacher trainees are thus trained to be aware of the transference dimension proper to the formative relationship and know how to take into account the suffering, the enjoyment, the desire, the “real” at stake (Zupancic) of the novices. In this way, they must learn to find their own knowledge, “take the risk of the other” (Paturet), and consider the trainee as a subject of his act, as a self-responsible person. Using qualitative research based on post-training interviews and recorded observations of exchange situations between trainers and trainees, we show the effect of the system on the praxis and the ethical posture of the trainer, as companion. Keywords: ethic posture, desire, impossible, advisor, the other
