The theoretical aim of this research is to present changes implemented by Polish teachers from 1st Primary School in Choszczno at their place of work, after visiting the experimental Aretta school in Lillehammer. The practical goal is to present the idea of international teachers exchange as an opportunity to improve not only the didactic methods but also general school functioning and the quality of learning and teaching.
The main goal of the visit of polish teachers in Norway, which took place in October 2009, was to learn how can they improve their methods of teaching by adapting the new ICT methods.
However, since their return, there has been some significant changes in the general functioning of Polish school which has been inspired by observations of the Norwegian model. One of the examples of changes introduced in the Polish school is the decision to resign from school bell which had been used to announce the beginning and the end of the lessons.
The research problem is focused on the comparison of the functioning of Polish and Norwegian school and on presenting the changes in general functioning of the Polish school in the context of individual experiences of polish teachers who took part in the international exchange.
The theoretical framework relies on constructivism.
